An official from the Auqaf Department revealed that the funding has been recorded in the Annual Development Plan of the Punjab budget 2019-20. The approved schemes also include construction of Quran Mehals (Quran Palaces) at a divisional level in Punjab.
The funding will be utilised to execute a total of 22 schemes, of which seven schemes are ongoing.
The ongoing schemes for which funding has been approved include restoration of Hazrat Shah Sadiq Nehang’s shrine in Jhang (Rs0.758m), construction of Quran Mehal at Sangla Hill city, Nankana Sahib (Rs1.837m), reconstruction of the shrine of Hazrat Bala Pir in Okara (Rs1.752m), reconstruction of Ghalla Mandi Mosque in Vehari (Rs1.627m), reconstruction of a mosque at the shrine of Hazrat Daud Jahanian in Muzaffargarh (Rs2.390m), reconstruction of Jamia Masjid Goth Aloo, Sadiqabad (Rs0.212m) and construction of nine Quran Mehals at a divisional level in Punjab (Rs42.235m).
