ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has demanded of the federal government to take constructive steps to deal with the attack of locusts in Sindh and Balochistan.

He said that though national calamities are confronted with unity all over the world, they are viewed on political basis in Pakistan.

The PPP chairman also asked the government to take back the decision to post army inside the polling stations during election in tribal districts.

“Army is an important institution. We respect army. Putting it into every matter makes the institution controversial and the election commission must refrain from this act,” he said.

Addressing media at the parliament house, Bilawal said the issues faced by the nation cannot be resolved by one person only.

“The All Parties Conference is being held but all the matters cannot be discussed in one day. We will have to meet again and again and try again and again,” he said, while adding that the difference of opinion within Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz will not affect the APC.

Bilawal informed that the PPP will discuss the National Finance Commission in the APC so that a joint strategy can be chalked out. He said that for the first time in the history, the entire opposition was working together immediately after election

“The APC will discuss post budget situation and devise a strategy on government’s one year performance. We will also take into consideration the attacks carried out on human and democratic rights of citizens” he said.

Bilawal added that the first issue Asif Ali Zardari raised after coming out of jail was about the rights of the poor but the government is yet to respond.

He said that the locusts have done much damage in Sindh and Balochistan for which the provincial governments needed funds.
