LAHORE:
Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar said opposition parties have no agenda for public welfare and did nothing for the people during their governments.

In a statement issued on Saturday, he said the opposition parties' alliance was only aimed at protecting looted wealth. He said these parties were playing the politics of personal interest. “The menace of corruption has pushed the country back and corrupt elements will not be allowed to hinder the path of progress.”

Buzdar asked on what grounds corrupt elements were talking about the rights of people. “Pakistan would not have faced the huge burden of loans if the former rulers were not corrupt.” He said the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)-led government had launched a campaign against the corruption mafia. The chief minister said Pakistan would be rid of corruption under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan.

Buzdar said that Imran Khan was the voice of the nation and the people had pinned their hopes on him. “Therefore, the PTI government is continuing with its mission of indiscriminate accountability against corrupt elements,” he added.

The chief minister said that those who looted the country had no future. He said the PTI government had resolved to improve the conditions of the weaker segments of society and the country would be rescued from the quagmire of loans.

The PTI government is making efforts for the welfare and progress of the common man and public welfare is our mission, said Buzdar. He said the whole nation supports PTI’s mission.

“The government is working on a policy of supporting the segments of society. Health, education and housing are the basic rights of every citizen.”

Buzdar said a befitting response would be given to undemocratic steps of the opposition and the unnatural alliance of the opposition parties would die down soon.
