Five killed in collision near Azizabad

Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar conveys heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families

MUZAFFARGARH: At least five people died while two others were injured in a collision between a passenger van and a rickshaw at Adda Muhammadwala, MM Road near Azizabad on Saturday.

Rescue workers said that a passenger van was on its way to Muzaffargarh when it collided with a rickshaw near Azizabad, 70 kilometres from its destination. As a result, five people were killed on the spot while two others, including a child, were critically injured.

Rescue 1122 shifted the bodies and the injured to a hospital. Police have registered a case and have opened investigation. Locals staged a protest after the incident and blocked MM Road.

Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar expressed grief and sorrow over the loss of human lives and conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families. He directed the administration to provide the injured passengers with the best medical facilities. He also sought a report on the incident.
