NPHP acquires 1,400 acres of land in Sargodha
Minister says inauguration will take place within a month
SARGODHA:
Punjab Minister for Housing Mian Mehmoodur Rasheed said on Friday that 1,400 acres of land has been identified in Sargodha for the Naya Pakistan Housing Programme (NPHP) and would be inaugurated within one month.
Talking to the media persons during his visit to Sargodha on Friday, he said rural housing schemes were also being started in 36 villages of the province. He said 50 houses would be constructed in each village and total Rs400,000 to Rs500,000 would be spent on each housing unit.
The minister also paid a visit to Khushab and viewed proposed lands for the new housing project being launched under the NPHP. The owners of private housing schemes would also be allotted 20% quota in new housing project after completing legal formalities, he said.
Rasheed said 200,000 kanals land had been declared across the province for Naya Pakistan Housing Programme. He said 2% quota would also be allocated for journalists.
He said the NPHP was a transparent housing project to accommodate low-income people while rules and regulations were also being prepared for the project.
