Up to 200 underprivileged children in Pindi enrolled

DC distributes books, stationery and other packets consisting of essential items

RAWALPINDI:
Up to 200 underprivileged children from Pirwadhai have been enrolled in literacy schools.

During the ceremony in Government Model Elementary School Pirwadhai, the Rawalpindi Deputy Commissioner (DC) Muhammad Ali Randhawa distributed books, stationery, uniforms, school bags, fox packages and other packets consisting of essential items, amongst the children yesterday.


Randhawa said that they would enroll record out-of-school children during the current year and provide them with free education, books and food packages.

In this regard, the literacy department spokesperson Aijaz Hussain Shah, told The Express Tribune that the department had planned to enroll all out-of-school children in the province. He added that literacy centers have also been established in jails for educating women and children.
