Dawood was of the view that workers of the furniture industry had great skills and potential and if used properly
ISLAMABAD:
The government has identified many sectors that would boost the country’s exports, said Adviser to Prime Minister on Commerce, Textile, Industries, Production and Investment Abdul Razak Dawood on Wednesday.
Talking to Pakistan Furniture Council (PFC) Chief Executive Mian Kashif Ashfaq, Dawood said the government would give priority to the promotion of export-led growth, including the furniture sector, by enhancing shipments and reducing dependence on imports.
He said due to timely policies of the government, the economy of the country would improve in the months to come as more Pakistani products were being exported.
Dawood was of the view that workers of the furniture industry had great skills and potential and if used properly, Pakistan could become the best exporter of furniture. The small and medium enterprise (SME) sector would also be encouraged to play its role in economic growth and national prosperity, he added.
