Female celebrities have always been subjected to constant scrutiny and body shaming. Over the last couple of years, social media has given these internet trolls a more rampant platform.

However, most stars have clapped back and made it clear to the haters that they are no longer going to stay silent on the negative commentary about their appearance and weight.

These six celebrities have, at one occasion or another, expressed how they feel comfortable in their skin.

1. Amna Ilyas

This model-turned-actor has faced the inescapable white-washing of the entertainment industry from the beginning of her career.

Ilyas, who remains unfazed by false notions of beauty, bagged the Best Female Model Lux Style Award in 2015. She used her acceptance speech to disprove the naysayers who told her that she could not make it because she was dark-skinned.

2. Mahira Khan

In a profession where celebrities are expected to look perfect and stay young, Mahira Khan did not shy away from embracing the fine lines on her face or the grey strands of hair in an Instagram post.

Khan's post sends a message to fans and fellow colleagues to no longer worry about their bodies or to hold on to such hang-ups.

3. Hania Aamir

In a long Instagram post, Hania Amir stated that she was going through anxiety because of her acne. That is when the actor decided to come out of the pressure of not letting her skin define her.

The Anaa star wrote, “I had my night and days of crying, feeling insecure and anxious. Makeup wouldn’t help. I was a mess but I went through it and got out of it too.”

4. Mehwish Hayat

The Load Wedding actor urged everyone on social media to embrace their beauty. “Flawsome is awesome,” she wrote in a post on her Instagram handle. On struggling with skin problems, Hayat wrote, "Away from the studio lights, the cameras and the glamorous makeup, we all battle with the same skin problems and insecurities as any other girl. Let’s embrace it - it’s called being a woman."

Hayat always puts her foot forward about the issues she strongly feels about.

5. Eman Suleman

Body shaming spares no one. Not even the ones considered fit and desirable according to an invisible beauty standard. Suleman, the fashion model who boldly speaks about social issues, recently discussed what a relief it was to not have to look perfect all the time. “There’s a great sense of relief in not wanting to achieve perfection all the time, in not wanting to present perfection all time. We are all hideously handsome, in our own way,” she shared in an Instagram post.

6. Nadia Hussain Khan
