FM, home secretary agree to continue with efforts to curb money laundering
ISLAMABAD:
Pakistan and Britain on Monday kicked off the first round of long-ranging strategic dialogue in London.
Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi, who is on an official visit to the United Kingdom, met British Home Secretary Sajid Javid and discussed mutual cooperation for putting an end to money laundering, recovering illegal assets, and stopping financing for terrorism.
According to sources, Pakistan’s high-level delegation was led by Additional Foreign Secretary Zaheer Aslam Janjua.
Qureshi and Javid also discussed security cooperation, eradication of organised crime and money laundering, illegal transfers as well as other issues of mutual interest.
Qureshi, Pompeo discuss Afghan peace process
The minister congratulated Javid on assuming the Office of Secretary Home, Britain.
They expressed their will to continue mutual cooperation regarding training of officials to curb serious crimes as well as money laundering.
Sajid thanked Qureshi for his visit and assured him of Britain’s complete cooperation on issues of mutual interest, including money laundering.
