NAB to open inquiry against ex-PM Khaqan Abbasi
Investigation against officials of foreign and interior ministry also to be started
ISLAMABAD:
The Executive Board Meeting of National Accountability Bureau (EBM-NAB) on Monday accorded approval for conducting inquiries against various companies including former premier Shahid Khaqan Abbasi in Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) case for inflicting losses to the national exchequer.
The meeting chaired by Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal accorded approval for conducting inquiries against former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi in LNG case, officials and personnel of foreign and interior ministry, Sui Southern Gas Company, Inter State Gas System, Pakistan Limited, GM National Fertiliser Qudratullah, Muhammad Saleem Makti, Thanubola Khan, officers of district Jamshoro, officers of irrigation department of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, officers of Peshawar Electric Supply Company (Pesco), officers of Integrated Water Resource Management, officers of railways division and others.
NAB chairman maintained that the proceedings in mega corruption cases will be taken to their logical end.
The EBM granted approval for closing inquiries against management of Punjab Infrastructure Company, officials of management committee on Sahiwal Capital Market Management, officers of PIAC, officials of provincial food department, customs, former DIG Larkana and others due to lack of evidence.
It also accorded approval to forward inquiries against officers of NHA, MTI, Khyber Teaching Hospital Peshawar, officers of Mardan Medical Complex and irrigation department for conducting further proceedings.
