HYDERABAD:
The Hyderabad Chamber of Small Trade and Small Industry (HCSTSI) has appealed the federal government to extend the June 30 deadline of the tax amnesty scheme by three months to September 30. In a statement on Monday, the chamber’s president, Muhammad Farooq Shaikhani, contended that June 30 closing was insufficient for the business community for the declaration of assets. He said that a majority of the income tax evading people still do not fully comprehend the merits and demerits of the scheme. He requested Prime Minister Imran Khan and Finance Adviser Abdul Hafeez Shaikh to review the decision.
