ISLAMABAD:
The meeting between PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz in Raiwind triggered a verbal slugfest between the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and the N-league.

On Sunday, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan said the meeting between the convicted princess of Sharif family’s throne and the crown prince of state of Zardaris at Raiwind palace had no link with democracy.

Reacting to the meeting of Bilawal and Maryam on Twitter, the PM’s aide expressed hope that for the satisfaction of courts, the two would give a clear agenda for bringing back the absconding brothers of Maryam and other Sharif family members and inform the nation about it.

Firdous said, “The nation is fully aware about the harsh reality that both the PML-N and the PPP have started the process of transferring politics and property to their next generations and this gathering is a step towards achievement of that goal.”

Bilawal, Maryam agree time’s up for govt

She said the soul of Benazir Bhutto would be perturbed (today) as she had always challenged the Lahore throne.

She used to take along her young Bilawal with her when she used to visit her consort in jail, who was arrested on the directives of the Sharifs, but now the same son “has reached Raiwind to save his father's corruption”.

Separately, PML-N spokesperson Marriyum Aurangzeb said, “People will continue calling Imran Khan a selected prime minister no matter how many commissions he sets up.”

She said, “Supremacy of Constitution, law and parliament will not be compromised. Let the PM do whatever he does. The anti-people budget will not be allowed to pass.”

In her reaction to the Imran announcement of constituting a commission, Marriyum said, “When will that high-powered commission be formed?

Do not hurl threats, give a definite date.”

She said, “You [Imran] will have to make hundreds of commissions to investigate your steps of incompetency as one single commission will not be enough. And yes, Imran please do not forget to form a commission to arrange your mental checkup.”

She asked Imran to form a commission to fund out what happened to 10 million jobs, five million houses and the dams’ fund, adding that another commission should look into the matter as to how the growth rate dropped to half and the inflation soared three times its rate in just 10 months.

“Another commission should investigate into Imran’s sources of income and his assets. How come you pay only Rs100,000 in tax?

“One more commission will be needed to determine the resources with which Aleema Baji [sister of PM Imran] purchased illegal properties worth billions of rupees,” she added.

She questioned their sincerity as prime minister and finance minister for being ignorant about the increase in the dollar rate.

“One commission should look into the money laundering of Aleema Baji, Jahangir Tareen and Faisal Wada,” demanded the spokesperson. “Also, the PM should hold an inquiry into his 18 fake and illegal accounts because you have been failing to reply to the Election Commission of Pakistan for the last five years.” (with additional input from app)
