Speakers at a seminar on Wednesday urged the government to collaborate with the private sector for developing infrastructure for wastewater treatment as acute water shortage has now started taking its toll. Speaking at the Industrial Wastewater Treatment seminar, Adviser to Governor Gilgit-Baltistan Engineer Sohail Lashari called for effective steps to check wastewater pollution and a strategy to ensure treatment plants in all industrial states. Geographically speaking, he said, wastewater pollution has hit the agriculture sector very hard. The concern for the environment is a major issue as well, he said.
