Disney has released the animated sequel trailer of Frozen, sending fans into an actual frenzy.

The snippet into the next film attempts to pose a question to the audience - are Elsa's magical powers enough to save her kingdom?  For those who have forgotten, Elsa is the queen of the flick's fictional city of Arendelle, who struggles to come to terms with her mystical potential.

Voiced by Broadway actor and singer Idina Menzel, the Snow Queen ventures beyond Arendelle to embark on a dangerous journey with her sister Anna, a friendly snowman Olaf and an iceman named Kristoff.

We are enticed into the trailer from the get go with haunting music and Elsa standing next to the ocean, watching the ferocious waves.

Suddenly, Elsa runs into the sea by magically creating ice on water.  We then wonder what will happen next as a ginormous wave is about to crash on her, but she creates an ice slop in an attempt to walk over the wave.

However, her powers come crashing down as the slop begins to turn into an avalanche and the queen is engulfed by the swell. We then see her sink into the bottom of the ocean.

That isn't before a magical creature in the form of a horse appears before Elsa underwater, which gives her the strength to swim to the surface.

Now, the trailer flashes to the scene of Kristoff, who plays Anna's love interest in the first 2013 film.  A mythical troll rolls past him and proceeds to tell Elsa that "the past is not what it seems."

He continues to tell her that she must find the truth by going north, across the enchanted lands and into the unknown. "But be careful," he warns. "We have always feared Elsa's powers are too much for this world, now we hope they are enough."

Everyone's favourite animated and loyal sister Anna and her cute snowman companion Olaf finally appear in the trailer by embarking on a perilous adventure via a boat and fall down a huge waterfall.

Though various fabled creatures and an electrifying magenta fire threaten their quest, Anna promises, “I won’t let anything happen to her.”

A ominous giant then comes towards Elsa, seemingly not a nice one because she is hiding from the creature in fear.

Directors Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck, along with songwriters Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez are all returning for Frozen 2.

The original Frozen became a huge success, generating over $1.3 billion in worldwide ticket sales, along with two Oscars. It still ranks as the highest-grossing animated film ever. The Broadway adaptation received three Tony nominations in 2018.

Frozen 2 will hit theatres on November 22.
