FAISALABAD:
The leaves of all provincial government officials posted in the district have been cancelled for an unspecified period to deal with a possible emergency during the monsoon season.
This was announced on Wednesday by district coordination officer, Naseem Sadiq, during a meeting of the heads of all provincial government departments in the district.
The meeting was called to review the flood control arrangements during the monsoon. The DCO directed the officers to ensure that all arrangements were in place to protect people in case of a possible flood. He said special care should be taken to provide relief to the residents of slum settlements.
The DCO directed officials to appoint staff along with de-watering sets in camps near slums so that immediate action could be taken in case of flooding due to heavy rains.
