RCB makes 80% recovery of property tax before end of fiscal year

The RCB has announced a 10 percent concession in outstanding property taxes

RAWALPINDI: The Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB) has made an 80 percent recovery of property tax before the end of the current fiscal year.

During the course of action, up to 10 shops were demolished which collectively had outstanding dues of around Rs2 million and did not clear them despite various notices.

Similarly, the RCB has announced a 10 percent concession in outstanding property taxes for those who were willing to pay them until June 25, however the action would continue during this period.

Further, the RCB Executive Officer Sibtain Raza, has tasked the field staff to expedite the recovery process and submit a daily report of progress. Earlier, the RCB had set a target of Rs675 million of which Rs540 million have been recovered with 19 days still left in closing of the fiscal year.
