CS takes notice of dilapidated cages

The chief secretary directs the repair work of the enclosures to be completed at the earliest possible date

Punjab Chief Secretary Yousaf Naseem Khokhar has taken notice of social media reports on the dilapidated condition of some animal enclosures in the Jallo Forest and Wildlife Park. He sought a report from the secretary of Forest, Wildlife and Fisheries Department. The chief secretary directed the repair work of the enclosures to be completed at the earliest possible date. He added that the promotion of tourism and recreational activities are among priorities of the government. “Practical steps are being taken by the government to promote tourism and recreational activities in the park.” He also issued instructions regarding the improvement of facilities at Jallo Forest and Wildlife Park. Installation of a shade in the bear’s enclosure has been completed whereas renovation of other parts is underway.
