Cricket: Raina fined for dissent
India batsman Suresh Raina has been fined 25 per cent of his match fee for showing dissent at an umpire’s decision.
BRIDGETOWN:
India batsman Suresh Raina has been fined 25 per cent of his match fee for showing dissent at an umpire’s decision during the first day of the second Test against West Indies. Raina showed his displeasure after being given out caught off leg-spinner Devendra Bishoo. “What Suresh did was a clear breach of the code, something the player himself has accepted,” said match referee Chris Broad. “There’s a fine line between showing disappointment and demonstrating dissent but here Suresh was well over that line.”
