Ranbir Kapoor to reportedly replace Shah Rukh Khan in 'Don 3'

Film-maker Farhan Akhtar is working on the script of the film for a long time

In 2017, producer Ritesh Sidhwani confirmed a third installment of the famous Don franchise is in the works. And then it was reported that Farhan Akhtar was working on the script of the film again. He has previously produced, wrote and directed the first two installments of Don, both of which featured Shah Rukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra in lead roles.

Now, according to multiple Indian publications, Farhan might be looking for a new lead. And if rumours are to be trusted, Ranbir Kapoor might just replace Shahrukh in Don 3.

After the failure of SRK's Zero, he has not announced any new project yet. Sources claim the superstar apparently wanted to keep himself away from films for sometime.

However, reports suggest the Dilwale star is in talks with Rajkumar Hirani for his next. The film will be directed by Rajkumar and produced under the banner of Red Chillies.

And if all of this actually happens, both the actors will be seen swapping their directors for their next. Ranbir has worked with Hirani in 2018-released Sanju, which turned out to be one of the highest-grossers of the year. He is currently shooting for Brahmastra starring Alia Bhatt, Amitabh Bachchan, Mouni Roy and Akkineni Nagarjuna in lead roles. The film is produced by Karan Johar and directed by Ayan Mukerji.

On the other hand, Shah Rukh has been in the news for the second season of his chat show Ted Talks which is all set to go on air soon.
