Seven killed, eight injured in separate incidents

A clash between two rival groups in Sargodha resulted in the death of one person

Seven people died and eight others were injured in separate incidents in Sargodha district on Monday.

Police said that Muhammad Iqbal, a resident of Sheikhpur, often quarrelled with his relative Muhammad Akbar over family issues. On the day of the incident, Akbar and his accomplices Riaz, Maqsood and Rashid, entered Iqbal’s home and opened fire.

As a result, Atif was killed while Tariq and Jehangir sustained bullet injuries. The accused fled the scene after committing the crime.

Separately, a clash between two rival groups resulted in the death of one person while four others were injured. The victim was identified as Nasrullah Bhola of Barrkan Noon village. The injured were shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital, while the body was handed over to the family after completing necessary formalities.

In addition, three people were killed and another was injured in Saddar police station precincts on Monday. Police said that Mumtaz, his wife Kaneez and daughter Fatima were travelling on Kotmomin Road on a donkey cart when a recklessly driven bus collided with them.


The couple was killed in the collision while their daughter sustained injuries. The bus driver fled from the scene.

Meanwhile, motorcyclist Muhammad Shahid, a resident of Block 4 Sargodha, was killed when he was run over by a dumper truck near Kirana Hills on Faisalabad Road. Police registered separate cases.

Further, two people died and as many others sustained bullet injuries over a children’s dispute in Noorpur Thal police station limits.

Police said that the children of Mubashir Jatt and Qayyum, residents of Noorpur Thal tehsil, were playing when they got into a fight.

In a fit of rage, Mubashir Jatt and his accomplices shot and killed 27-year-old Qayyum and 22-year-old Asad and injured Muzammil and Ammar. The accused then fled from the scene of the crime. The victims were shifted to THQ hospital Jauharabad.
