NHMP recover snatched car, catch three suspects
The trio was handed over to district police for further action
RAWALPINDI:
National Highways and Motorway Police (NHMP) have recovered a snatched vehicle near Thaliyan Interchange and arrested three suspects.
According to NHMP spokesperson, the control room had received a call at 8 am on Monday that a car, which had been snatched at gunpoint, was passing by the Thaliyan area. Subsequently, NHMP patrol officers intercepted the vehicle and arrested its driver, Shehbaz Ali. During initial questioning, the suspect disclosed that his two other accomplices were traveling on the same road in another car.
A police squad under DSP Asghar Ali devised a strategy immediately. They told Shehbaz Ali to call his partners on a mobile phone to ascertain their location.
Soon NHMP squad was hot on the tail of car snatchers, who did not stop despite repeated hooter signals. Police then chased down the vehicle and intercepted it after a short distance and arrested two suspects who were identified as Mehboob and Pervaiz. The trio was handed over to district police for further action, while the car owner was informed to take possession of his vehicle after completing legal formalities.
