‘Provision of basic facilities for minorities’
Punjab government claims to be taking practical steps to provide basic health and education facilities to the masses
MUZAFFARGARH:
Punjab Human Rights and Minorities Affairs Minister Ijaz Alam Augustine said that the government is taking practical steps to provide basic health and education facilities to the masses, especially minorities. He expressed these views while addressing a ceremony where scholarships were handed out to 389 students from South Punjab including Rahim Yar Khan, Bahawalpur, Dera Ghazi Khan, Layyah and Muzaffargarh. He stated that the common man can avail medical facilities costing Rs0.7 million through health cards. He said that the Punjab government is implementing the provision of water and sewerage restoration projects in minority residential areas. He stated that the purpose of distributing scholarships was to encourage students.
