DHA plans 100-bed hospital, three BHUs

The District Health Authority (DHA) Rawalpindi has planned four new projects in the new fiscal years.

The authority has asked the health ministry to build a 100-bed hospital in Chakri to meet the healthcare needs of the area, said DHA Chief Executive Dr Rashid Khan.

The health authority has also proposed establishment of two basic health units (BHUs) in Taxila and one in Gujjar Khan, Dr Rashid said.


Earlier, a 100-bed Wah General Hospital had been established under DHA during the tenure of the previous government.

Dr Rashid said that all healthcare centers buildings across the district would be renovated while provision of medicines and staff would also be ensured in order to provide better health services to the rural population in their own localities.
