ISLAMABAD:
The Supreme Court on Thursday rejected National Accountability Bureau (NAB)'s appeal against a suspect Attaullah who was being investigated for alleged corruption as a cashier of the National Bank.

High Court had acquitted the suspect four years ago.

NAB is not meant to make arrests only, Chief Justice of Pakistan Asif Saeed Khosa observed during the hearing, adding that, "registering a case is not the only objective."

"NAB should attach the evidences along with the cases."

The suspect has been wrangled for the past 19 years, Justice Khosa lamented.

"There is not even an evidence of the designation based on which an allegation of corruption has been levelled on the suspect."

"What does NAB actually do?"

Does NAB only want to make cases, the CJP questioned stressing that the anti-graft body has to also prove the case and ensure punishment as well.

Justice Khosa went on to add that people are under mental stress due to NAB's attitude.
