Food dept to procure 5,000 tonnes wheat from Pindi division
The department had established 16 wheat procurement centers in Rawalpindi division

The Punjab Food Department (PFD) Rawalpindi division would procure 50,000 wheat bags under on-going wheat procurement campaign.
Each wheat bag holds 100 kilogrammes of grain, as such PFD plans to lift 5,000 tonnes of wheat from the Rawalpindi division.
According to Deputy Director Foods Salman Ali, the department had established 16 wheat procurement centers in Rawalpindi division to procure 50,000 wheat bags under wheat procurement campaign 2019.
Salman Ali informed that the department on the directive of Chief Minister Punjab Usman Buzdar had finalised all the arrangements to ensure transparent issuance of gunny bags to the growers.
Ali informed that four procurement centers had been established in Rawalpindi, seven in Attock, three in Jhelum and two in Chakwal district to achieve the wheat procurement target and facilitate the farmers to sale the wheat at the centres of the Punjab government.
He informed that Punjab government has fixed Rs1,300 per 40kg as the price to procure wheat which was being given to the growers through bank accounts of the farmers and no cash payment was being made to protect the rights of the growers. The delivery charges of Rs90 per 100kg wheat bag was also being given to the farmers.
