KARACHI:
Mobina Town Police arrested two men on Monday for allegedly posing as officials of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and extorting money from government employees. The police seized fake identity cards, weapons and a car from their possession.

The suspects, Husaini Raza alias Kashif and Dr Naeemullah, used to blackmail government officers and extort hundreds of thousands of rupees.

Malir SSP Irfan Bahadur said that with the help of technology and intelligence agencies, the police arrested Raza from Rajput Colony. Using the information gleaned from the arrested suspect, the police were able to trace Dr Naeemullah who they arrested from Samama Shopping Centre.

Bahadur said that the suspects also confessed to committing robberies in the jurisdiction of Sachal and Gulistan-e-Johar police stations where they used to show their fake identity cards to get away in a car. Police seized a 12-bore pistol and fake ID cards. They also seized the car used in the crimes.
