KHANEWAL: A man was shot dead over an old enmity in the jurisdiction of Sadar Mian Channu police station on Sunday.

Police said that Tajamal Hussain was gunned down by some men after an exchange of harsh words. The accused fled from the scene after committing the crime.

They added that Hussain had a dispute with Zahoor Ahmed over some land related issues. Sadar Mian Channu police have registered a case and started investigation. However, police said that the deceased Hussain was wanted by police in a number of cases under sections 320/17 and 302/34/109 as he was involved in the killing of Nusrat, the brother of Zahoor on August 17, 2017.

The police shifted the body to a morgue of Tehsil Headquarters Hospital Mian Channu after autopsy. Raids were being conducted to arrest the criminals. In a separate incident, a motorcyclist was killed in a road accident near Chowk Maitla on Sunday.

According to Rescue-1122, Nadeem, resident of Tibba Sultanpur district Vehari was returning home from Multan on a motorcycle when a recklessly driven mini van collided with his two-wheeler near Chowk Maitla. He died on the spot.

In another incident, at least four passengers sustained injuries when the bus overturned near new bypass due to speeding on Sunday. Police said a private company bus overturned near Khanewal-Lodhran new bypass.
