Foils an attempt to supply thousands of litres of counterfeit carbonated drinks
LAHORE:
The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) on Sunday foiled an attempt to supply thousands of litres of substandard and counterfeit carbonated drinks and sealed a factory manufacturing these fake drinks.
PFA Director General Mohammad Usman said these fake drinks were prepared with unhygienic water, chemicals, artificial flavours and colours. Gas cylinder, filling machines, compressors, and motor have been seized. The food authority took action in the provincial capital and sealed a leading brand’s fake carbonated drinks manufactured in the factory.
The DG said a factory was established in Bawadi Kuthiyan village, in the suburbs of the metropolis where fake drinks were being prepared.
