Passenger caught trying to smuggle drugs

The force arrested the suspect and started investigation

ISLAMABAD: The Anti-Narcotic Force (ANF) foiled an attempt to smuggle drugs abroad at Islamabad International Airport (IIA).

The luggage of a passenger Saqib Khan, who hailed from Nowshera, was inspected by ANF officials at joint search counter during the briefing of a private flight to Saudi Arabia. ANF officials recovered some 2.920 kilogrammes of methamphetamine popularly known by its street name meth-ice.

The force arrested the suspect and started investigation. Saqib would face a long prison sentence for trying to smuggle drugs, however, if he would have been beheaded if arrested in Saudi Arabia.

The ANF thwarted another drug smuggling attempt as it made a raid near Jhelum. The officials told on secret information, they raided a spot near Tarkai GT Road and recovered one kilogramme of opium and hashish respectively from the suspect, Shehzad.
