A policeman injured in the recent blast in Quetta’s Satellite Town succumbed to his injuries on Thursday, bringing the tally of the cops martyred in the attack to five.
Sources said policeman Aqeel Khan had suffered severe injuries in the explosion.
Earlier on May 13, an explosion ripped through a mini market in Satellite Town area of the city.
The explosion was carried out using an improvised explosive device planted in a motorcycle parked on the roadside, police said.
According to the sources, a police vehicle deputed outside a mosque was also damaged in the blast.
A case was filed against unidentified men under Anti-terrorism Act 1997 (ATA) and The Explosives Act.
Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) claimed responsibility for the attack.
The blast came two days after a terrorist attack on Pearl Continental Hotel, Gwadar in which five people were martyred.
