Punjab Revenue Minister Malik Muhammad Anwar says the wheat procurement process is currently underway
LAHORE:
Punjab Revenue Minister Malik Muhammad Anwar stated that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) government will achieve the wheat procurement target of 4 million metric tonnes. He expressed these views in a statement issued on Thursday. The minister maintained that the wheat procurement process is currently underway in the province. He stated that losses in Punjab appeared to be on the higher side and the actual losses will be ascertained after two to three weeks. He revealed that all district revenue officers have been directed to complete an assessment of the losses and to submit a report so that the government can compensate the farmers. He urged them to address complaints promptly. Commenting on tax amnesty scheme introduced by the government, the revenue minister said that the scheme would help in raising billions of rupees.
