QUETTA: Unidentified armed men opened indiscriminate fire on labourers working in an agriculture field in the Manjho Shori area of Naseerabad district, killing three of them and injuring one.

According to police, armed men entered Bhusa Mandi in Goth Raees of Manjho Shori targeting labourers working inside. “Due to indiscriminate firing, three labourers from Sindh were killed and one received bullet injuries,” police added.

The attackers managed to escape.

Security forces along with rescue workers reached the spot and shifted the bodies to a nearby district headquarter hospital.

The deceased were identified as Gangli, Arji and Meer Machi, who came from Tando Adam and were daily-wage labourers.

“The bodies have been shifted to Tando Adam for burial while the police have lodged a First Information Report against unidentified persons,” said Naseerabad Superintendent of Police Irfan Bashir. “Hunt for arrest of the killers is under way.”

Meanwhile, Adviser to Chief Minister for Education Haji Muhammad Khan Lehri has strongly condemned the killing of three labourers in Nasirabad district

In a press release issued here on Wednesday, the adviser said terrorists are killing innocent people to disrupt peace but their nefarious design shall be foiled at any cast for ensuring progress of the province.

“Some anti-social elements are playing with human lives to please their foreign masters,” he said adding these elements can't see the province’s progress as it is now on the track of development owing to the positive measures of the current provincial government.

Lehri further added that measures are being taken to arrest killers of labourers, adding security forces including Pakistan Army, police, Levies Force and Frontier Corps (FC) Balochistan have been rendering sacrifices for the restoration of peace due to which there is peace in province today.

He expressed sympathy with bereaved families and said government stands with families of the martyred labourers in difficult time.
