Vaccination team beaten after accused locks them in a house

LAHORE: A polio vaccination team was beaten after an accused locked them in a house in Samanabad. The accused also threatened the polio team with dire consequences.

Police have registered the case. Police said when the team reached the house of a citizen named Sohail in Samanabad to administer anti-polio vaccine, the accused refused and later, he locked the team in the house and tortured them.

On getting information, police with heavy contingent reached the spot and arrested the accused. Police said a case has been lodged on the complaint of area in-charge DD Health Office Hafiz Mohammad Ali Abid.

The case has been registered under interference in the writ of the government and other sections. Further legal proceedings were underway.
