LAHORE:
Punjab Inspector General of Police Captain (retd) Arif Nawaz Khan has urged trainee officials to take special courses to establish better relations with the public.

Speaking at a plenary session, held under his chairpersonship at the Punjab Central Police Office (CPO) on Wednesday, Khan was discussing the police training syllabus and colleges.

A notification was issued to upgrade the Multan Police Training School to a college. Another notification was also sent out to hand over supervisory control of Police School of Information and Analysis from the Special Branch to Training Branch Punjab.

IGP Khan said that in order to improve police training in southern districts, the school and seat of the principal have been upgraded.

“Trainee officials should take special courses on public dealing in police stations and time management so that an environment of trust could be maintained.”

In the high-level meeting, Additional Inspector General Training Tariq Masood Yaseen briefed IGP Khan about the progress and challenges of the training branch. He added ethical training is also being conducted.

He told the officers that without moral training, the police force cannot bring itself to the level of developed countries. He further stated that a pleasant environment with hygienic measures, extracurricular activities and refresher courses should be a top priority. IGP Khan directed investigation officers to enter all aspects of a case according to the checklist.
