Rescue 1122 negligence: Gilani orders probe into children's death

Two children drowned when a boat capsized during a training exercise conducted by Rescue 1122 officials.

MULTAN: Prime Minister Gilani ordered an investigation into the death of two children during a training exercise which was being conducted by Rescue 1122 near Multan on Sunday.

Eight children were in a boat on the Chenab River as part of a training exercise when it capsized.

As a result, two children drowned, while six others were rescued.

Earlier, Rescue 1122 officials had told the media that all eight children had been rescued.

However only six were saved, while two drowned.

The body of one child, Fahad, has been found. However, the search  for the body of Ahmed, the second child, continues.

DCO Multan is also going to be part of the investigation.
