Advisory council to be formed for special persons
'Sindh Government has already taken substantial measures to facilitate special persons'
KARACHI:
The Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPD) is planning to constitute a provincial advisory council to address the issues of persons with disabilities, facilitate the continuous evaluation of a comprehensive policy to empower them and protect their rights.
Special Assistant to Sindh Chief Minister on DEPD Syed Qasim Naveed Qamar said this while presiding over a meeting at his office on Tuesday. He said that the objective of the formation of provincial advisory council is to work comprehensively for the welfare of special persons, protect their rights and ensure their wellbeing, adding that the Sindh Government has already taken substantial measures to facilitate special persons.
With the formation of the provincial advisory council, "we will be able to provide them [special persons] more facilities," he said. Qamar also said, "Efforts will be made to engage relevant, committed and qualified persons, working in the field of rehabilitation of special persons, in order to ensure best results."
