Unsafe workplace: Miner killed by falling rock

ABBOTABAD: A miner was killed after being hit by a falling stone in the Kakul mine range on Sunday. This was the second such incident during the six past months, police sources told. Eyewitnesses and police said that miners were busy loading the gypsum on trucks when a stone slipped from the mountain and hit a miner, Syed Ashiq Shah, killing him on the spot. Just six months back, two young miners were also killed in the same area, with the cause stated as a lack of proper safety measures.
