CDA to check slum dwellers on off days
Authority forms special teams of enforcement directorate to monitor illegal constructions
ISLAMABAD:
After the Capital Development Authority (CDA) observed that residents of slums take advantage of weekly day-offs and start illegal constructions in the meantime , it has decided to conduct operation on a regular basis to stop them from continuing this practice.
The authority has also formed special teams of enforcement directorate (ED) to monitor such constructions. The teams of CDA and ED visited different slums in Islamabad yesterday during which it demolished illegal constrictions in Shopping Colony in sector G-7.
The teams also demolished a boundary wall which was being extended illegally in France Colony slum in Sector F/4-7. The monitoring teams also visited a number of slums in various sectors which were termed cleared.
