Rawalpindi Police yet to decide on increasing precincts
Recommendation to form new stations in Murree, Saddar and Waris Khan rejected temporarily
RAWALPINDI:
The Rawalpindi District Police have not yet reached on a conclusion on establishing 10 new police stations along with recruitment of additional police force.
In this regard, the district police had sent a summary to Inspector General (IG) six months before after which it was in principle decided to establish six new stations in a high level meeting. However, owing to a severe financial crisis, only two new stations in Shakaryan and Gujjar Khan would be established.
The recommendation to form new stations in Murree, Saddar and Waris Khan has been rejected temporarily.
The police had pleaded to increase its force when the population of district Rawalpindi was between 2.5 to 3 million however when it got approval the population has alarmingly reached around 5 million.
