Homicide: Peshimam, his relative shot dead

Two armed men on a motorcycle targeted the victims as they came out of a hostel.

A peshimam was gunned down and his companion was injured in a drive-by shooting in Saddar on Sunday night. The Preedy police said that the incident took place near the passport office. DSP Malik Mazhar Hussain told The Express Tribune that two armed men on a motorcycle targeted the victims as they came out of the MPA hostel. Thirty-year-old Abdul Jabbar was shot once and died a short while later while his relative, Mujeebur Rehman, was shot twice and was taken to Civil hospital. The officer said that Jabbar was the peshimam of a masjid inside the MPA Hostel while Rehman used to work as a clerk in the Sindh Secretariat. They are both from Sukkur. The police have not discovered a motive behind the attack and a case has not been registered.
