WASA sets 80% recovery target

Staff that is unable to meet targets will have to face departmental action

RAWALPINDI: The Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) has set a target for its field staff to increase its bill recovery rate to 80%. The target was set during a meeting between the WASA Managing Director (MD) Muhammad Tanvir and the newly appointed, WASA Revenue Director Jamshed Aftab. It was further decided that the staff that was unable to meet their targets will have to face departmental action. WASA officials have been told that the current rate of revenue recovery was only 45% while the authority would ask consumers to clear outstanding dues of Rs600 million. The authority, though, has listed outstanding dues in bills for commercial properties who have not been provided with water supply or connection.
