Two militants killed in operation in North Waziristan
Cop martyred in attack on police mobile in Charsadda
CHARSADDA/MIRAN SHAH:
At least two militants have been killed in Datta Khel area of North Waziristan as security forces have carried out military operations against militants after recorded several attacks on security forces.
According to the district administration statement, security forces carried out targeted operations in Boya area of North Waziristan last night and killed two militants, who had been involved in attacks on military personnel.
Authorities handed over the bodies of militants to their families after completing the identification process.
Meanwhile security forces have increased deployment in the border areas of North Waziristan tribal district including Charkhel, Jee Panga, Dadam, Sheen Kandao, and Maidan.
Forces are busy in flushing out and eliminating operation in the border areas of Pakistan. Afghan forces are also helping Pakistani security forces in strengthening their positions in the border villages, where militant activities have been reported from last many days.
Though security forces faced stiff resistance in advancement in the areas, the operations would continue till fully securing the tribal district, the statement said.
Charsadda shootout
An ASI was killed when a wanted criminals opened fire on the police party which had come to arrest him in the Tangi tehsil of Charsadda on Wednesday. ASI Muhabt Khan was martyred in the attack, while policemen Tauseef and Mansour Khan were injured.
According to police, a raiding party had gone to arrest proclaimed offenders Hilal, Bilal and Musawer from their home in the Gandhri area of Tangi tehsil of Charsadda.
The trio, wanted for murder, kidnapping and police encounters were on the run for years and had come home few days ago.
ASI Muhabat Khan told the criminals to surrender, instead they opened fire killing him on the spot and injuring two policemen and fled.
The remaining cops lifted the body and the injured and rushed to the hospital. The wanted criminals have gone in to hiding.
Police carried out search operation in the area there was not news of any arrests.
