Cop suspended for slapping motorist
'Misbehaviour with citizens by a policeman cannot be tolerated'

ISLAMABAD:
A constable of Islamabad Police was suspended on Sunday for allegedly slapping a citizen at a police picket erected within the remits of the Tarnol police station.
A police source said that a police squad was conducting snap checking at the picket, examining documents of cars and bikes passing through when a police constable allegedly slapped a citizen for an unknown reason.
When contacted, a police spokesperson confirmed the incident and said Constable Sajid has been suspended for his indecent behaviour with a citizen.
He added that Operations-DIG Waqaruddin Syed has also taken the notice of the incident and had immediately ordered for an inquiry after suspending the constable.
Syed, meanwhile, said that misbehaviour with citizens by a policeman cannot be tolerated. He added that strict disciplinary action will be ensured against those involved in the incident.
