LWMC vows to keep it clean in Ramazan
All operations are being monitored through android apps in a video control room
LAHORE:
Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC) Managing Director Khalid Nazir visited different Ramazaan bazaars and reviewed cleanliness arrangements.
The MD visited Ramazan bazaars in Shadman, Makkah Colony, Wahdat Colony, Ghalib Market and Badami Bagh Mochi Gate. He expressed his satisfaction on the overall cleanliness in 30 Ramazaan bazaars in the metropolis. Nazir said 206 sanitary workers, with the necessary equipment, were working in two shifts. A special focus was being given to mechanical sweeping and washing of surrounding areas and the timely collection of waste on a regular basis.
As many as 93 waste containers and 118 waste bins have been placed in all 30 Ramazan bazaars to ensure proper the disposal of waste and control littering.
Moreover, a dedicated sanitary crew has been deployed in major markets, Iftar dastar khwans, graveyards and mosques for cleaning activities.

However, he urged the public to cooperate when it comes to maintaining the cleanliness of these Ramzan bazaars.
Visitors and stallholders were being sensitised over the proper disposal of waste by social mobilisers of LWMC deputed in these bazaars.
Moreover, General Manager Operations Sohail Anwar Malik and head of communication Jamil Khawar also accompanied LWMC MD during the visit of Ramazaan bazaar.
