LAHORE: Provincial Minister for Energy, Dr Muhammad Akhtar Malik, inaugurated Pakistan’s largest solar wall at the Centre for Energy Research and Development (CERAD), University of Engineering and Technology (UET), Kala Shah Kaku Campus.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Malik said, “Pakistan's industry is currently facing severe energy crisis, therefore, we should focus on introducing alternative sources of electricity production to overcome this crisis.”

He added that the use of solar energy is more eco-friendly in Pakistan than other countries. “Focusing on solar energy is enough to bring industrial revolution in the country”, he added. The solar wall will generate 410 kilo watt energy.

Dr Akbar said that to strengthen the economy we should focus on utilisation of renewable energy in the country. UET has always played its role in the projects of government. This project has reached a milestone in the field of energy.

Dr Akbar emphasised the need for energy consumption and revealed a number of completed and ongoing energy-related projects.
