Police confirms constable Ashfaq Ahmad killed over an old enmity
LAHORE:
A policeman was killed by the firing of two unidentified motorcyclists in Gulshan Hayat, Shahdara, on Wednesday. Lahore police confirmed that the deceased head constable, Ashfaq Ahmad, was killed over an old enmity.
He was deputed at the Punjab Inspector General’s (IG) office in the city. He was commuting in his vehicle, along with family members, when the accused motorcyclists opened fire at them.
The victim suffered severe bullet injuries and was rushed to the Mayo Hospital. Moments later, he succumbed to his injuries. Officials of the police station concerned reached the crime scene and collected evidence. Further investigation into the killing is underway.
