Usman Buzdar says newly-introduced local bodies system will rectify past mistakes

Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar said Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has taken the lead when it comes to introducing legislation. He was addressing a party parliamentary meeting at the PA cafeteria on Tuesday to discuss the implications of the new local bodies system.
The CM took the time to thank parliamentarians for reposing their confidence in him. "We will work in such a way for public welfare that it will always be remembered in history", he said. Buzdar continued that problems faced by citizens would be resolved by visiting divisions and districts.
Opposition expresses reservations over new LG system
The prestige and honour of assembly members would be restored, the CM said. He added that the people of the province would be served after consultation with elected representatives.
The chief minister said the local bodies system of the previous government was ridden with errors and the newly-introduced one would rectify past mistakes. “People will be empowered in the new local bodies system,” he added.
