Indian Twitterati went into overdrive soon after JeM top leader was blacklisted by UNSC sanctions committee with Pakistan and China both dropping their objections to the latest proposal put forward by the US, UK and France to designate him as a terrorist.
Washington has tried to get his name on the list at least four times since 2008.
However, China had thwarted the resolution every single time before this.
UNSC designates Masood Azhar as global terrorist
The JeM chief's name has been added to the list under the UNSC Resolution 1267.
Indian academician and writer Shashi Tharoor spoke out saying: "Well that kind of deflates our satisfaction. If #MasoodAzhar wasn’t blacklisted at last because of Pulwama, then it logically has to be for all his previous sins. So is China admitting they erred in shielding him for 10 years and he was a terrorist pre-Pulwama too?"

Public and foreign policy expert Michael Kugelman also claimed the listing was a big win for New Delhi, adding, "This demonstrates how important Pakistan is to Beijing."
It's important to emphasize that while the designation of #MasoodAzhar is certainly a big diplomatic triumph for #India, the designation itself is rather symbolic. After all, the designation of Hafiz Saeed years ago didn't exactly rein him in-quite the opposite, in fact.

While Prime Minister Narendra Modi also spoke out while thanking the international community for letting the resolution come through.
The Indian premier said that people should be proud of Azhar's name being listed on the global terror list.
Today is a day that would make every Indian proud!

It was His deftly crafted Foreign policy which got #MasoodAzhar declared as international terrorist by UN
Big victory for India indeed🇮🇳#मोदिहैतोमुमकीनहै
I've been a critic of Modi but I am not going to beat around the bush and desperately find reasons to deny him the credit he deserves. He's pulled off a spectacular coup on #MasoodAzhar and PM must be credited with this diplomatic win. Really well done.

Islamabad hits back
Foreign Office spokesperson Dr Mohammad Faisal hit out at the Modi government saying that it was a huge diplomatic victory for Pakistan against India over the baseless and political references linking Azhar with the legitimate Kashmiri struggle for self determination.
He said the UN had dropped any reference of the JeM chief's name being listed after the Pulwama attack.
Huge diplomatic win by #Pakistan against #India - baseless, political references, linking #MasoodAzhar with the legitimate Kashmiri struggle for right to self determination, removed
