China claims the men’s crown at an international table tennis competition.

China claimed the men’s crown at an international table tennis competition, while the women went down to their foreign rivals for the first time in the event’s three-year history. China’s Ma Long, Xu Xin and Ma Lin trounced their World Team rivals from Germany, Japan and Seoul 4-1 in a team challenge in Shanghai. The World Team women’s 3-2 victory – spearheaded by Singapore’s Feng Tianwei and Hong Kong’s Tie Yana – marked the first time China had lost.
