Women-only bus comes to Abbottabad
Under the Pilot Project, 14 specially designed buses are procured
If the buses are not pink, people wouldn’t know they were exclusively for women
ABBOTTABAD:
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Sakura Bus service, a transport facility and designated bus stops in Abbottabad will be inaugurated on April 30. Speaker Provincial Assembly, Mushtaq Ahmad Ghani will be the Chief Guest at the Jalal Baba Auditorium.
The United Nations Office for Projects Services (UNOPS) in Pakistan in partnership with Transport and Mass Transit Department, Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and with financial support of the government of Japan has initiated the Women Bus Project.
Women get Pink Buses in Abbotabad
Under the Pilot Project, 14 specially designed buses are procured; seven buses each for Abbottabad and Mardan.
In addition to the buses 15 designated bus stops have also been constructed on the designated route in Abbottabad.
